Please review the following terms before using DrinkMate. By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to these terms. These terms comply with EU consumer protection regulations.
Effective date: May 15, 20261. General Terms
Acceptance
By creating an account or using DrinkMate you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, you may still use DrinkMate for educational purposes such as browsing recipes and learning about cocktail craftsmanship, but you must not purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.
Account
You sign in with your Apple ID. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. One person may not maintain more than one active account.
Free tier
DrinkMate offers a full-featured, ad-free free tier. It includes unlimited cocktail searches, measurement conversion, dynamic glass visuals, cabinet management, one favorites list, and one color palette. No payment is required to enjoy the core experience.
2. Subscription Plans
DrinkMate Pro
Pro unlocks recipe uploads, a servings multiplier (1–100+ drinks), six color palettes plus a custom color picker, and unlimited favorites lists. Pricing varies by region.
Monthly plan
Billed every month (e.g. €1.99 in the EU during launch pricing). Renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled.
Yearly plan
Billed once per year at roughly 10× the monthly rate — effectively giving you two months free (e.g. €19.99/year in the EU during launch pricing). Renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Auto-renewal
Your subscription renews automatically. You will be charged through your Apple ID account. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Price changes
Prices may change after the launch period. Existing subscribers are grandfathered at their current rate. We will notify you in advance of any price increase, and your explicit consent will be required before a higher rate is charged.
3. Cancellation Policy
Access until end of period
If you cancel your subscription, you will retain full Pro access until the end of your current billing period (monthly or yearly). No features are removed early.
How to cancel
Cancel any time through your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → DrinkMate Pro). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
No partial refunds
Cancellation stops future renewals. The remaining time in your current period is still available to you, so no partial refund is issued for unused days.
After cancellation
When your Pro period expires, your account reverts to the free tier. Uploaded recipes and ingredients you created remain visible to you and other users, but you will no longer be able to create new uploads until you re-subscribe.
4. Right of Withdrawal (EU)
14-day cooling-off period
Under EU consumer law, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to withdraw from your subscription and receive a full refund.
When withdrawal does not apply
By subscribing and using Pro features (such as creating favorite lists, uploading recipes, using the servings multiplier, or customizing color palettes), you acknowledge that the digital service has begun and you expressly consent to waive your right of withdrawal for the portion of the service already delivered.
Express consent
By proceeding with the purchase, you give your express consent for the digital content to be delivered immediately and acknowledge that this may affect your right of withdrawal as described above.
5. Refund Policy
Eligible for refund
If you request a refund within 14 days of purchase and have not used any Pro features, you are entitled to a full refund under EU consumer protection law.
Not eligible for refund
If you have actively used Pro features during your subscription (uploaded recipes, created favorite lists, used servings multiplier, or customized color palettes), a refund is not available as the service has been consumed.
How to request a refund
Refund requests can be made through Apple's App Store (Report a Problem) or by contacting our support at drinkmate@solutionist.dk. We will process eligible refunds in accordance with applicable laws.
6. User-Generated Content
Uploads
Pro subscribers may upload cocktail recipes and custom ingredients. Uploaded content becomes part of the DrinkMate database and is visible to all users of the app.
Ownership & license
You retain ownership of the original content you create. By uploading, you grant DrinkMate a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to display, distribute, modify, and sublicense that content within the DrinkMate platform and its promotional materials.
Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of your uploads. Recipes and ingredients should contain truthful names, measurements, methods, and descriptions. Do not intentionally publish misleading, incomplete, or dangerous recipes (e.g. unsafe ingredient combinations).
No spam or duplicates
Do not upload duplicate, placeholder, or mass-generated content intended to flood the database. Each upload should represent a genuine cocktail recipe or ingredient.
Removal
We reserve the right to disable or remove any uploaded content at our discretion, including content that violates these terms, is flagged by moderators, or is deemed low quality. You will not be entitled to compensation for removed content.
Recipe anonymization and community contributions
To protect the integrity of the shared database, recipes that have received contributions from other members—such as photos, ratings, or comments—may be anonymized rather than fully deleted when you remove them or when your account is closed. Anonymization replaces your name with a generic attribution, removes personal narrative (such as the story you added), and removes your own photos, while keeping the recipe and community contributions available to others.
Ingredient contributions
Ingredient entries you add become part of the public database. Once other members use an ingredient in published recipes, the ingredient record itself cannot be deleted; instead, your personal link to it may be removed (for example by clearing creator attribution) so the shared data remains available while your association with it ends.
7. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Content
Prohibited content
You may not upload, submit, or publish content that is: sexually explicit or NSFW; violent, hateful, or discriminatory; harassing, threatening, or defamatory; promoting illegal drug use or dangerous activities; infringing on third-party intellectual property; or otherwise unlawful.
No misuse of the platform
You may not use DrinkMate to: scrape, crawl, or systematically download data; reverse-engineer the app or its API; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems; distribute malware, spam, or advertising; or interfere with the operation of the service.
Recipe & ingredient integrity
Recipes and ingredients must be cocktail-related. Do not use upload fields to publish unrelated text, promotional links, personal information of others, or content unrelated to cocktails and beverages.
Responsible drinking
DrinkMate is a recipe and reference tool, not a promotion of excessive alcohol consumption. Do not use the platform to encourage binge drinking, underage drinking, or any form of alcohol abuse.
8. Moderation & Account Enforcement
Content moderation
All user-uploaded recipes and ingredients are subject to review by our moderation team. Content may be disabled without prior notice if it violates these terms.
Flagging
Users or moderators may flag content for review. Flagged content is evaluated and may be disabled or the uploader contacted for correction.
Upload ban
If you repeatedly violate the acceptable use policy or upload prohibited content, your upload privileges may be permanently revoked. You will still be able to browse recipes but will no longer be able to contribute.
Account suspension
Severe or repeated violations — including uploading NSFW, hateful, or dangerous content — may result in permanent suspension of your account without refund. We reserve sole discretion in determining what constitutes a violation.
Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your account suspended in error, you may contact us at drinkmate@solutionist.dk. We will review your case but are not obligated to reinstate content or accounts.
9. Intellectual Property
DrinkMate IP
The DrinkMate name, logo, visual design, glass illustrations, shaders, and all original content in the cocktail database are the intellectual property of DrinkMate. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without written permission.
Third-party rights
You must not upload recipes, images, or descriptions that infringe the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party. If you adapt a recipe from a published source, provide appropriate credit.
DMCA / takedown requests
If you believe content on DrinkMate infringes your intellectual property, contact us at drinkmate@solutionist.dk with details. We will investigate and remove infringing material in compliance with applicable law.
10. Privacy & Data
Data we collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service: your Apple ID authentication token, uploaded content, favorites, cabinet selections, and anonymous usage analytics (e.g. cocktail views, search queries, feature usage). We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Anonymous analytics
DrinkMate collects anonymized analytics — such as which cocktails are viewed most or how often features are used — to improve the app. An anonymous analytics ID is generated locally on your device and is not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity.
Optional survey
We may ask you to complete a voluntary demographic survey (age range, gender, country). This data is stored anonymously and used solely for aggregate product insights. You can skip or decline the survey at any time.
Data storage
Your data is stored securely on our servers. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by GDPR.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, or export your personal data. You may also object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact drinkmate@solutionist.dk.
11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
No health or medical advice
DrinkMate is a cocktail recipe reference tool. Nothing in the app constitutes medical, nutritional, or health advice. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or health concerns related to alcohol, consult a qualified professional.
Drink responsibly
We encourage responsible consumption of alcohol. DrinkMate is not liable for any consequences arising from the use or misuse of recipes found in the app, including overconsumption, allergic reactions, or any harm to yourself or others.
User-generated content disclaimer
Recipes and ingredients uploaded by users are not verified by DrinkMate for safety, accuracy, or quality. Use user-submitted content at your own risk. DrinkMate is not responsible for the accuracy or safety of community-contributed recipes.
Service availability
DrinkMate is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DrinkMate and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
12. Changes to These Terms
Updates
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of DrinkMate after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Review
We encourage you to review these terms periodically. The latest version is always available at this page.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions in your country of residence that may apply under EU law.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
